COVID-19 ANTIGUA & BARBUDA STATUS
As of 15th March 2020 there is one confirmed case of Coronavirus in Antigua. This is a travel related case from the UK. The young lady, who is visiting her mother, entered Antigua on 10th March. She presented to the health authorities on 11th March and the test results were confirmed positive the next day.
During the time she has been in Antigua she has been in contact with her mother only. She is currently self-isolating and under the supervision of the health authorities.
All the passengers on the flight that she came on have been contacted by the airline and the procedures for observation, self-isolating, and testing where necessary are being implemented.
In response to the the Coronavirus pandemic we are following the guidance of the WHO and the Government of Antigua & Barbuda and we will update our policies and procedures .as the situation develops.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY TRAVEL?
As more countries close their borders and flights become more restricted you may need to consider cancelling your reservation.
The government of Antigua & Barbuda has made it clear that it is not contemplating closing its borders. However, if you are not able to travel due to your local situation we will honor the cancellation policy swiftly, or re-arrange your booking for any time in the same type of season (high or low season) at no extra cost.
WHAT IF MY BOOKING IS NON-REFUNDABLE - CAN YOU BE FLEXIBLE ON THIS GIVEN THE COVID-19 CIRCUMSTANCES?
We cannot make any discretionary changes to the cancellation policy in force at the time of your booking. However, if you made a non-refundable booking either directly or with an on-line travel agency and you need to cancel, we will still allow you to change your dates instead. That way you do not lose any money. There will be no additional fees to change your dates. Please contact us directly so that we can advise and assist you.
WHAT IF I STILL WISH TO TRAVEL?
If you still wish to travel, please rest assured that we are taking all measures to protect the health and well-being of our family and customers.
Routinely, when visitors enter Antigua they are required to complete an immigration form. Here they detail the countries that have been visited within the past 6 weeks. This information will be more closely scrutinized by immigration officials in the light of the pandemic.
Please let us know which countries if any that you have visited within the past 6 weeks so that we may advise you accordingly.
On arrival in Antigua, we strongly recommend that you take our private taxi from the airport to the campsite. Our private taxi is sanitized before and after each and every journey. The taxi's air-conditioning system will not be used.
We have adopted stringent cleaning and sanitation measures to mitigate against the spread of virus at the campsite. In addition, since we have no air condition system (we rely on fresh sea air) or swimming or plunge pools (we have the Caribbean sea just 20 steps away from your tent) and you cook your own BBQ's, you are in the best place to be protected against the spread of the virus.
Your tent is equipped with a private solar heated shower and wash hand basin and soap is supplied.
SHOULD I STILL GO ON TOURS?
In recent days we have met with all the tour operators that we promote to ensure that they are putting in place adequate sanitization measures for our guests. We will give you information on those tours where we are confident that they are able to provide adequate levels of prevention.
WHAT IF I START TO SHOW SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 WHILST I AM IN ANTIGUA?
We have engaged a private physician so that should our guests show symptoms of COVID-19, we are able to inform the authorities, arrange for testing and implement the correct self-quarantine procedures with the minimum of bureaucracy or delay.
